About Corporate Caterers Franchise

Founders Dennis McGinley and Jim Gass confessed to having been exhausted by the daily pressures of trying to run large restaurants and catering facilities. So, in 1997, they launched a new concept that they had been developing for some time. Corporate Caterers was born.

They established simple, straightforward house rules for Corporate Caterers:

  • breakfast and lunch catering, five days a week with no weekend commitment
  • a corporate clientele only, no private parties or evening engagements
  • a closely-knit, well-trained staff to assist with every order

And the business began to grow and grow.

In 2007 the company launched locations in Florida and Georgia. Very soon, we sold franchises in Texas and Ohio. Expansion continued for the next 10 years.

In 2017, we brought Greg Halton on board to assume the role of CEO. His mandate was to take the company from its grassroots level to a national franchise leader. Larry Powell, one of the first franchisees in the system, agreed to join Greg’s team as VP of Franchise Sales and Development, and together, Greg and Larry launched their growth strategy.

Today we’re the leader in our industry. And we’ve expanded our operations to over 15 states with many more on the horizon.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Meetings. They’re an important part of business. Any business. A gathering of minds to communicate, consider ideas, discuss challenges, and plan new ways forward. It’s a shared purpose that brings us together, but it’s sharing a meal that bonds us.

We call this convention “breaking bread”.

It’s a business ritual that channels our energy and restores our human connection. Eating together nurtures a deeper dialogue and warms the soul. Spirits are lifted over a meal. Breaking bread affirms trust, inspires confidence, and offers comfort.

This is our commitment. We make this happen. You could say, we set the table for this shared experience. We are the silent partner who takes care of everything.

We are the stewards of breaking bread.

FRANCHISING

WE DO CORPORATE CATERING. BUT NOT LIKE YOU THINK.

In fact, it’s not like a lot of things. And that’s why it’s better. Sure, it’s catering. But not the kind you’re thinking of. Because we don’t do it the way anyone else does. We’re different. And that difference is what makes our franchise concept unique.

WHAT WE AREN’T

There’s no evenings. There’s no weekends. And we don’t do any social events. At all. No picnics, birthday parties or kids’ events. None. Ever. Just professional business functions. So you only deal with business professionals.

In a nutshell, we deliver food for business meetings. That means we work regular business hours. And since we focus only on serving business customers, owning one of our franchises is your access to an exciting and profitable business model without any of the typical hurdles and headaches that come with running a restaurant.

WHY WE’RE BETTER THAN THE OTHERS

There are so many good reasons to put your natural enthusiasm and energy to good use, and to take control of your financial future:

  • We’re a proven model - We’ve been around for over 20 years. We’re not a here-today-and-gone-tomorrow concept that is so prevalent throughout the QSR model. Our business model is one that's been proven over time.
  • We have a competitive advantage - Our unique selling proposition differentiates us from the competition.
  • We offer lower cost of entry - The initial cost of entry is lower, so you can afford it.
  • You can have a work/life balance - Our franchise model offers a lifestyle that means you’ll own your business, not the other way around. You can even (yes, it’s true) take time off.
  • You don’t need any culinary skills - We’ve run successful operations without even knowing how to boil an egg. (Well, okay, maybe you need to be able to boil an egg – but that’s it!)
  • Your market will be protected and exclusive - We’ll never saturate your territory or cannibalize it with other franchisees. So, you’ll never compete for the same customers.
  • We’re engaged and invested in your success - We’ll support you step by step with proven operating systems, a proprietary software package, in-depth training, educational and logistical resources, plus full marketing support.
  • There are huge opportunities for growth - We’ve proven the demand for our business catering service is sustainable and growing. With Corporate Caterers, the best part is that you can access this growth with only one location and a one-time investment.

More than anything, we want to see you succeed. The advantages our model offers:

  • Lower typical start-up investment - Our kitchen footprint is smaller than a traditional restaurant space. You don’t need a dining room, or high-end décor, or any other high-cost capital expenditures. Often, you can find existing infrastructure and equipment, further lessening the initial costs.
  • Faster, higher ROI - Our investment range is much lower than other restaurant and food franchise concepts, yielding higher a return and quicker returns on your investment as well.
  • Lower location costs - We’re totally unlike the restaurant concept where location is so important. You won’t need expensive space because your kitchen can be anywhere. You’ll deliver to your customers at their locations.
  • No retail frontage - You’ll have no inbound customers. We deal with the professional business customers who have a demand for our service.
  • Shorter working hours - You’ll operate a 5-day-a-week, 1-shift-per-day business. How easy is that?
  • Fewer employees - On start-up, you’ll need only 5 employees (a cook, a business development associate, 2 delivery representatives and a steward/dishwasher). You add employees as the business scales.
  • Low employee turnover and high customer retention - Operating with fewer employees means you won’t be anything like the restaurant business, where employee turnover is often an issue. That’ll leave you time to manage your customer relations and improve customer retention.
  • Higher margins - With a state-of-the-art ordering system, you’ll know exactly what business is coming well in advance. That means better-managed inventory and minimal waste, resulting in lower food costs.

A TYPICAL DAY

  • 6:00 AM - A typical kitchen operation starts around six o’clock. You’ll want to get a head start on baking, cooking and prepping the daily breakfast and lunch deliveries.
  • 8:00 AM - The office opens. Orders will come in by phone or online. Using best-in-class software, you’ll create production lists, and manage invoicing and payments.
  • 10:00 AM - Your delivery vehicles will head out. Drivers will deliver, set up and then clean-up the day’s orders.
  • 3:00 PM - Drivers return.
  • 4:00 PM - Drivers have finished and cleaned up.
  • Leave work. Through the miracle of modern technology, you can still be open and take incoming orders, even process them, while you’re away from the office or at home.

You’ll only have one shift of employees to manage each day. Our highly structured system will allow you to work on bigger picture issues concerning your business—rather than being trapped inside it. With our proprietary tools and resources, you’ll require only minimum effort to oversee a small workforce responsible for daily tasks and routine responsibilities.

We’ve developed a proven system. Now going on over twenty years, we’d like to share our processes and all that we’ve learned to assure your own success.

YOU'RE THE MISSING INGREDIENT. THINK YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES? WE DO TOO.

You only need two special ingredients: the enthusiasm to be a self-starter and the ability to recognize a great opportunity. So join us, as a franchise affiliate. We’re looking for people just like you.

Your recipe for success:

  • strong people skills
  • collaborative spirit to be a team player
  • interest in working with and learning from others
  • leadership with a strong work ethic

And best of all: you don’t need any formal culinary or food training whatsoever.
